ABOUT ABOUT

Savor foods from the Chesapeake Bay and local farms paired with Devils Backbone brews.   Begin with an oyster roast of Rappahannock oysters followed by a family-style feast: Northern Neck Charcuterie of Cured Meats and Smoked Fishes, Pickled Vegetables and Relishes; Platters of Roasted Meats & Seafood, and Fresh Farm Vegetables.  Finish with Gourmet S’mores under the stars by the bonfire. ($80 per person; reservations recommended)

First Course: Oyster Roast Paired with Cran-Gose Tart Cranberry Ale- Based on the traditional Gose brewing style, light & fruity, Cran-Gose is pink hued with a cranberry aroma & a naturally tart finish. A gose is a German ale that is traditionally brewed with salt. The saltiness of the beer, along with it's carbonation will highlight the salinity in the oysters. ABV: 4.0% IBU: 4

Second Course: Charcuterie/Smoked Fish- Paired with Five Apostles Saison- In homage to the five ecclesiastically named peaks in the region, this complex yet delicate beer is an ethereal beauty to the palate.  Robust enough to take on full flavored dishes, but are still light enough for a hot day. The complex blend of yeasty fruit and spice complements a wide range of dishes from spicy Asian and Middle-Eastern to grilled red meat. The high fizz factor and sharp bitterness make them awesome palate cleansers. ABV: 6.9% IBU: 28

Third Course: Roasted Meats Paired with Golden Stag- Drinkability of Leaf Lager’s Golden with a hop kick of the Eight Point IPA. The caramel flavors in the beer will latch onto the sweeter side of a dish, tying into things like caramelized onion or the crispy skins of roast poultry. And the hop acids and carbonation make IPAs great palate cleansers to take on even the fattiest delights. It's a terrific pairing for roasted or smoked meats. ABV: 5.5% IBU: 45.4

Dessert Course:  Gourmet S’mores Paired with Black Rock Milk Stout- A generous amount of milk sugar was added to this black beer to create mild sweetness and a fuller body.  Black in color and medium-full bodied with hints of malted milk chocolate goodness. A perfect beer to accompany a fire and S'mores, like drinking chocolate milk. ABV: 5.4% IBU: 20
